LACC Participates in Regional Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Workshop in Banjul, The Gambia

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) is pleased to announce its participation in the Africa Regional Workshop on the Strategic Use of the United Nations Human Rights Mechanisms for Anti-Corruption and Human Rights, which took place from April 24–25, 2025, in Banjul, The Gambia.

Ms. Vivian S. Akoto, Executive Assistant/Program Manager in the Office of the Executive Chairperson, represented the Commission as part of the Liberian delegation. The workshop, organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission of The Gambia, brought together participants from across the continent to explore the intersection of human rights and anti-corruption efforts.

Ms. Akoto joined distinguished Liberian delegates including Cllr. Asata Bah Kenneth of the Office of the War & Economic Crimes Court and Ms. Caroline Da Silva e Sousa, Human Rights Officer at the OHCHR Office in Monrovia. She contributed significantly to the discussions, sharing insights on Liberia’s ongoing efforts to integrate human rights principles into anti-corruption strategies.

The LACC remains committed to working alongside national, regional, and international partners in advancing transparency, accountability, and human rights in Liberia.
