On Friday, July 25, 2025, the two institutions formalized their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the LACC headquarters in Monrovia. This strategic alliance marks a significant step toward enhancing coordination in the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of financial misconduct.

The agreement was signed by Cllr. Alexandra Zoe, Executive Chairperson of the LACC, and Hon. Mohammed A. Nasser, Officer-In-Charge of the FIA. Both leaders echoed a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and inter-agency synergy in defending Liberia’s public resources.

Cllr. Zoe described the pact as a meaningful stride toward unified oversight, enabling both institutions to respond more effectively to corruption and misuse of public trust. She emphasized that strong collaboration is vital in rebuilding citizen confidence in national governance.

For his part, Hon. Nasser highlighted the inseparable link between corruption, money laundering, and other illicit financial activities. He noted that this partnership sends a clear message: Liberia is ready to confront systemic abuse and build a more resilient financial system.

Together, the LACC and FIA are sending a strong signal, cooperation is key, and integrity is non-negotiable.
