The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) Held a Major Outreach Event at The Rally Town Market On Tuesday, August 5, 2025
The outreach attracted a large gathering of marketers and local residents, as the Commission continues its nationwide awareness campaign aimed at encouraging citizens to play a more active role in promoting transparency and accountability.
The event began with a welcome statement from Mr. Jerome K. Mulbah who was representing the Market Superintendent, he commended the LACC for selecting Rally Town Market as a site for public engagement. He acknowledged the damaging effects of corruption on market activities and emphasized the importance of continuous education to foster a culture of integrity.
Speaking to the crowd, LACC Executive Director, Mr. James K. Kingsley, recognized the daily challenges faced by marketers and urged them to practice fairness in their business dealings with customers. He emphasized that integrity at every level contributes to a more just society.
An interactive Q&A session followed, where marketers voiced concerns about the misuse of public funds, delays in prosecuting corruption cases, and challenges within the marketplace. LACC officials responded by outlining the Commission’s legal procedures and reaffirmed their commitment to fighting corruption despite institutional hurdles.
