LACC and Egyptian Embassy Explore Strategic Partnership
During the visit, Ambassador Farghaly expressed a keen interest in bridging the gap between the LACC and Egypt’s own Anti-Corruption Commission through specialized training initiatives. The meeting served as an opportunity for the Ambassador to gain a deeper understanding of the LACC’s achievements over the last two years, leading to a proposal for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize and strengthen this partnership.
Representing the LACC, Commissioner Samuel F. Dakana provided an overview of the Commission’s progress in enforcing its mandate and explained its organizational structure and chain of command.
Commissioner Dakana welcomed the prospect of international cooperation, noting that understanding the operational duties of the Egyptian Anti-Corruption Commission will help the LACC sharpen its skills and adapt to modern trends in the fight against corruption. He further explained that as corruption becomes more sophisticated, it is essential for investigators to be equipped with the latest knowledge and technology to analyze complex cases therefore the training is vital to keeping the Commission’s workforce dynamic and effective.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Farghaly noted that the atmosphere at the LACC headquarters reflected a high level of professionalism, stating that it was clear the staff are “serious people doing serious job.
